Luca de Meowill step down from his position on July 15, 2025, after a five-year tenure marked by a significant turnaround and transformation of the company. De Meo has chosen to pursue new professional challenges outside the automotive industry.
The Board of Directors, led by Chairman Jean-Dominique Senard, convened to accept his decision and expressed deep gratitude for his contributions. “Under his leadership, our company has returned to a healthy foundation, boasts an impressive range of products and has resumed growth,” Senard noted.
Succession Planning Already UnderwayThe Board confirmed that a process to appoint a new Chief Executive Officer is underway, following a previously defined succession plan. De Meo will continue to fulfill his duties until mid-July to ensure a smooth transition.
The Board also expressed full confidence in the existing management team to carry forward and accelerate Renault Group’s strategic transformation, entering what it describes as a "new phase" for the company.
Luca de Meo is widely credited with restoring Renault Group’s competitive edge, strengthening its product portfolio, and guiding the company back to growth. His tenure is seen as a pivotal chapter in the company’s modern history.
