After Mahindra, NIA partners with Uber for last-mile link
Noida International Airport

(NIA) has partnered with

Uber India

for

last-mile connectivity

. The move follows NIA's collaboration with Mahindra Mobility to launch an

airport taxi service

.

Under the agreement, Uber will establish dedicated pick-up zones equipped with on-ground assistance and detailed wayfinding guides from the terminal. "Passengers will be guided from their arrival gates to these designated Uber zones, where driver-partners will have exclusive parking spaces to ensure reduced waiting times," an official said.

Last-mile connectivity is a key concern for authorities associated with the airport in Jewar, which is around 60km from Noida city and almost 40km from Pari Chowk. While the airport is likely to be inaugurated in a few months, plans to build mass transit systems like the metro or rapid rail leading to the Jewar facility are yet to see much progress on the ground.

Christoph Schnellmann, CEO of NIA, emphasised the airport's commitment to passenger comfort, taking into concern the key aspect of last-mile link. "Our goal is to make every part of the passenger journey efficient and comfortable — door to door," he added.

Arnab Kumar, director of business development at Uber India and South Asia, said, "Our collaboration reflects our commitment to ensuring smooth and comfortable last-mile connectivity, backed by dedicated on-ground support and an effortless booking experience via the Uber app."

The NIA's connectivity plan will extend beyond private operators like Uber and Mahindra. Three development authorities in Gautam Budh Nagar — Noida, Greater Noida, and Yamuna Expressway — have formed an SPV to introduce a city bus service that will have routes to the airport.

Apart from this, NIA has also partnered with Haryana Roadways, which will operate direct buses to key NCR cities like Gurgaon, Faridabad, Palwal, Hisar, Panipat, and even Chandigarh once commercial operations begin at the airport.

The airport authorities have secured agreements with Uttarakhand Transport Corporation for AC bus services to popular destinations like Dehradun, Haridwar, Rishikesh, and Haldwani. Furthermore, UP Roadways will connect the Noida airport to 17 districts across western Uttar Pradesh, including Meerut, Aligarh, Agra, and Mathura.

NIA officials said more connectivity plans were in the pipeline. "We are in the process of more collaborations with govt agencies and stakeholders to improve both private vehicle access and public transportation options," an official said.
