Driven by
services exports, India’s total
exportstouched an all-time high of USD 824.9 billion in FY25 and grew 6 per cent on-year,
commerceand industry ministry said Friday.
Services exports reached a “historic high” of USD 387.5 billion in FY25, up 13.6 per cent from USD 341.1 billion in FY24.
“For March 2025, services exports stood at USD 35.6 billion, reflecting a year-on-year growth of 18.6 per cent compared to USD 30 billion in March 2024,” the ministry said.
In 2024–25, merchandise exports excluding petroleum products rose to a record US
USD 374.1 billion, registering a 6 per cent increase from USD 352.9 billion in FY24 — the highest ever annual non-petroleum merchandise exports.
Data released last month showed that India’s goods exports grew 0.7 per cent on-year to USD 41.97 billion in March, taking the overall FY25 merchandise exports to USD 437.42 billion, 0.08 per cent higher than FY24.
“The last financial year was difficult with so many things happening around the world,” said commerce secretary Sunil Barthwal had said then, adding that despite global challenges, the merchandise shipments and overall exports touched the “highest” ever figures in 2024-25.
Overall, India’s goods trade deficit in FY25 rose to USD 282.82 billion as against USD 241.14 billion in FY24.
